Ikorodu is one of Lagos's oldest and largest towns, and unlike most areas on this page it is an LGA in its own right rather than a neighbourhood within one. It has grown fast as Lagos has expanded east along Ikorodu Road, drawing people priced out of the more central mainland with genuinely lower rents. A lagoon ferry service connects Ikorodu to Falomo on the Island, an alternative to the often-congested road route.
