Surulere is one of Lagos's older, more settled mainland neighbourhoods, valued for sitting close to Lagos Island — the city's economic hub — without Island-level prices. It's home to the National Stadium, long one of Nigeria's best-known sporting venues, and to the Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall, one of the mainland's established retail centres. Ojuelegba, at its edge, is one of Lagos's busiest transport interchanges — useful for connectivity, but famously congested.
