Yaba, Lagos

Lagos's tech and student hub — home to two major institutions and the startup cluster that earned it the nickname "Yabacon Valley".

Yaba anchors the Lagos Mainland LGA and has a character built around two institutions: the University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology, which between them give the area a young, student-heavy population and a steady rental market. Over the past decade it's also become Nigeria's best-known tech cluster — often called "Yabacon Valley" — home to a concentration of startups and co-working spaces. Tejuosho Market is one of its long-standing commercial landmarks.
